Alexa tagged along as her friend's plus one to Ryan’s 29th birthday party at his house on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Funny enough, it wasn’t the first time we crossed paths — we had briefly met once before, back in December, as Alexa was leaving and Ryan was arriving at another party. She remembers telling her friends afterward that he was so cute… but nothing came of it — until that birthday invitation a few months later.
That night, there were lots of people playing Cupid, but Ryan was too busy hosting (and maybe a little too nervous!) to do much more than say a quick “hi” and “bye.”
Still, something clicked — because the very next day (Sunday), he asked Alexa out on a date.
That Thursday evening, we met at Rootstock in downtown Woodstock at 6pm. We hit it off right away and didn’t want the night to end, so we headed over to Reformation for a drink. We completely lost track of time — Reformation closed at 11pm, but we weren’t ready to say goodbye. We walked to Century House and chatted for hours on their front porch. It was 1am before we finally parted ways… and even that didn’t feel long enough.
Our second date was just two nights later — we went mini golfing (Alexa won!), and Ryan saved the scorecard in his glovebox. From then on, we were seeing each other every couple of days and quickly became inseparable.
Within just a few weeks, we both knew we had found the one.
The rest is history. The past two years have been nothing short of amazing, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for our future!
